Dean intended to purchase the vehicle and took a taxi to nearby Ballyfoyle at roughly 7pm that evening. A red Manchester United hat belonging to Dean was later found in the area. Dean met the seller and purchased the car, which was later found crashed, a short distance away. The last confirmed sighting of Dean was in the driveway of a nearby property at roughly 9pm that night.
