Last seen: Skye is thought to have been seen at an inn in the town of Noboribetsu, six days after arriving in Japan. 

Circumstances of disappearance: Skye, who had a long standing appreciation of Japanese culture, purchased a plane ticket to Japan, leaving her home in Southington, Connecticut, on April 1st. She didn’t tell anyone she was going. She did not buy a return ticket. Skye left with very little money and minimal personal belongings.
